The Business Model - The Unique Spokes-n-Hub Model

Janani will enter into Contract Farming or Direct Procurement Arrangements from the Farmers or their Cooperatives. A Strategic alliance with the Government of Andhra Pradesh through Department of Horticulture will be done for Backward Integration purposes
Each small crop area (Mandal) will be a spoke end of activity where small post harvest storage, and processing facilities will be operated thro the Janani's Integrated Agro Facility Centers (Spokes). This will facilitate immediate and bulk processing of the Fruits and Vegetables being brought to these Centers by the Farmers from nearby villages. This not only provides convenience to the Farmers but also reduces the post harvest handling loses to a great extent. Controlled Atmospheric Storage (CAS) facilities will be created.
Later depending on the processing requirements, these locally stored products will be transferred to the Modified Atmospheric Packaging Unit (HUB) for conversion as value added products.
Value Addition will also be undertaken through Contract Manufacturing of Value Added Products utilizing the existing units as well as using the cold chain and other facilities available in the Module area.
Janani will establish Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Re-distribution infrastructure in India and abroad to meet the Sales and Marketing Objectives

Identify area wise crops, their pattern and quantity produced
Evaluate marketing opportunity for both fresh and processed produce
Create post harvest storage and process facilities in small sizes as suitable for the location for bulk processing
Identify existing processing facilities near production centers and upgrade them
Identify excess capacities and tie up for processing on contract
Revive sick units
Create a Nodal MAP Project where produce will be transferred in bulk from small units for further processing as required by Food Industry/Market
Provide marketing infrastructure for marketing the produce both fresh and processed
